BAR SCREEN

A bar screen is a mechanical filter used to remove large objects, such as rags and plastics, from wastewater. It is part of the primary filtration flow and typically is the first, or preliminary, level of filtration, being installed at the influent to a wastewater treatment plant.

TRASH RACKING

A trash rack is a wooden or metal structure, frequently supported by masonry, that prevents water-borne debris from entering the intake of a water mill, pumping station or water conveyance. This protects water wheels, penstocks, and sluice gates from destruction during floods.

BAND SCREEN

Traveling band screens are typically installed in an intake screening system downstream from the trash rakes or coarse bar screens and upstream of the circulating water pump. Their main function is to remove debris (from 1 mm-10 mm) before the circulating water is distributed to sensitive plant components.
